This past week has been a lesson in perseverance. To be honest, when I started the 2025 season, I wasn't feeling as motivated as before. Then, mid-week, an unexpected donation came in that pushed me over my fundraising goal. The feeling was overwhelming; a reminder of why I do this and the incredible generosity of this community.
That energy fueled my weekend. I set a personal challenge to ride nearly 200km in a single day. On Saturday, I rode 171km—the longest I've ever gone. The journey from Hamilton to Toronto to visit the SickKids Foundation building was a landmark moment for me. It’s one thing to fundraise, but another to see the place you're fighting for.
The ride back was a true test. My legs were on fire around the 100km mark. But a short break with a friend was all I needed to find the strength to get home. That ride taught me I'm not quite ready for 200km, but it also showed me I'm not that far off. And with that, I also completed my 400km goal for the month.
So, here we are. Goals met, with one week to go. I think we can do more.
I’m committing to another 100km to reach a new goal of 500km. I’m asking you, my network, to help me push my fundraising even further beyond the original goal. Let's see how big of an impact we can make together in this final week.
Thank you for being on this journey with me.
Help us finish strong for the SickKids
What a ride! I'm officially more than halfway through my Great Cycle Challenge. I’ve covered 240 km on the bike so far, with a big 30 km ride recently that even included a 750m swim—a true triathlon!
I'm also getting so close to my fundraising goal. We've raised an incredible $814 toward my $1000 target. A massive thank you to all the generous donors who have helped me get this far. Your support is what keeps me going!
I completed my second big ride for the Great Cycle Challenge! It was an 86 km ride, bringing my total distance to 203 km out of my 400 km goal. I'm almost halfway there on both my cycling and my fundraising goals!
If you'd like to help me reach the finish line, this Wednesday, August 13, is the day to do it! It's "Kick Cancer's Butt Day," and sponsors will match all donations made that day up to a total of $1.3 million. Any amount you can give will have double the impact in helping these kids.
I'm so grateful for the support I've received so far. Every donation and word of encouragement keeps me pedaling!
Get ready with me! I'm gearing up for the Great Cycle Challenge to support sick kids. My goal is to ride 400km and raise $500. Wish me luck!
