The poor air quality has sent my rides inside for a few days but I'm determined to make it work. With all of the support I've received I've now raised over $2000. I'm close enough to the superhero jersey at $2500 that I'm going to keep pushing and see if I can earn a jersey to give to an actual hero, a kid fighting cancer.
I just raised $1,000 to fight kids' cancer and achieved WARRIOR LEVEL in the challenge! Thank you so much for your support.
Seven days and 258 km. I felt awesome on my ride today. (The new bike shorts might have helped.) I'll slow down a little after this as I balance dragon boat races, semester prep, and riding. But I have no doubt I'll cruise past 500 km before the end of the month.
I have to admit I'm feeling the legs and my wrist after 150 km in four days. Due to other events happening this month I am front loading my distance so I'll keep pushing for the next few days and see how far I can get.
Also had to redo my bar tape today which I've never done so we'll see how it holds up when I ride.
I just raised $500 to fight kids' cancer and achieved GUARDIAN LEVEL in the challenge! Thank you so much for your support.
Thanks to everyone who donated to my ride already. To keep the momentum going I have upped my fundraising target. I'd love to be able to give another kid fighting cancer a superhero jersey this year. So I may increase it again depending on the next few days.
First ride of this year's challenge is done. Did 37 km. Only 463 to go.
I just raised $250 to fight kids' cancer and achieved PROTECTOR LEVEL in the challenge! Thank you so much for your support.
I just raised $100 to fight kids' cancer and achieved DEFENDER LEVEL in the challenge! Thank you so much for your support.
Definitely a warm ride today, even with taking off around 8 am. But, I'm so thankful to have the ability to ride and a beautiful river valley to ride in.
