  • GREAT CYCLE CHALLENGE REPORT
    11 Oct 2024

As we reflect on the amazing month that was August and celebrate the incredible $7,286,159 raised in the 2024 Great Cycle challenge...

We wanted to pass on a heartfelt 'thank you' from one of our families. ❤️

Our ambassadors and their families were following along closely with the event and they are still in awe of your epic riding and raising efforts!

Wayne, your personal fundraising efforts to raise $5422 will help save little lives and get us closer to a world free from the devastation of childhood cancer.

For the 3rd year, you have shown that you're committed to building your own personal legacy to help these brave kids and their families.

5-year-old Iris was diagnosed with refractory B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia 2 years ago.

After her diagnosis, she endured chemotherapy, multiple immunotherapies, a string of viruses, persistent GI issues and a bone marrow transplant.

Thankfully, she is now in remission after a whirlwind treatment journey. 🥰

    Iris' Thank You Sign

Her mom, Leila (pictured), was following the challenge closely and asked us to pass on this message to the GCC community:

    "Dear riders,

I wanted to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude to each and every one of you who participated in the Great Cycle Challenge. Your commitment to riding, raising awareness, and dedicating your time to support cancer research is truly inspiring. Your efforts help fund specialized treatments and ground-breaking research that offer hope and healing to those who need it most.

This summer, we’ve had the joy of watching Iris do what she loves most—just being a kid. Iris has been reconnecting with friends and family, rediscovering her passion for soccer, enjoying the thrill of swimming, and eagerly preparing for the exciting adventure of starting senior kindergarten this September.

Thank you for being a vital part of this important cause and for helping us move closer to a world where every child has the chance to live a cancer-free life. Your courage, generosity, and compassion make all the difference.

    With heartfelt appreciation."

    Leila (Iris' mom)

Iris now has check-ups every 4-6 weeks and continues to receive support for her mobility, developmental and dietary needs.

After a difficult couple of years, she's getting back to her active self and enjoying her childhood (as it should be). 😀

    Iris, you rock!

Wayne, thank you for your incredible fundraising efforts in this year's challenge, your support will help to end childhood cancer and save little lives.

    Your support means the world.

  • Great Cycle Challenge August 14, 2024 donations will be 100% matched!
    12 Aug 2024

I have some very exciting news...

Please ask your friends and family!

This Wednesday is Kick Cancer's Butt Day! 💪

Once again, we're asking ALL riders to unite this Wednesday (August 14) and take action to give cancer the butt-kicking it deserves. Why? Because over 1,700 Canadian children are diagnosed with cancer every year, and 4 kids sadly die every week.

Cancer has been hurting our kids and their families for too long. It's time to rise up and show cancer who's boss!

    But that's not all...

On Kick Cancer's Butt Day, the Garron Family has generously pledged to MATCH ALL DONATIONS received this Wednesday, up to $1,300,000!

So that means ANY online donation YOU receive on Wednesday will be MATCHED and added to your online fundraising page.

Great Cycle Challenge August 14, 2024 donations will be 100% matched!
