Finish line is just 12 km away after todays ride to the museum at lock 3
From Home to Rene Park, Port Dalhousie
Hopped on my bike today and it lead me to Rene Park after a pit stop at Montebello Park to write in my journal and arranged a visit fthere with Aunt Joyce Western World Rowing at Henley Regatta all week. Plus free stuff to do at some of the booths to try and win prizes. Tried a rowing race simulator. Placed 6/6 with a time of 2.28.48 for 500 metres race. Started out strong and slowed right down for the 109 metres. Should have given myself more recovery time as I just finished riding to Port Dalhousie Had a lot of fun with me, myself and I. Met a few people from around the world. Listened to some great music and danced like no one was watching.
TODAYS RIDE ADDED ANOTHER 20km to my goal of 100. Now standing at 68kms
Well, I signed myself up for this August challenge and having a goal of 100 km and I’ve only been on two rides so far so today I ventured out for another one.
My thought for this ride was life is about the journey, not the destination. Went down memory lane for some things… stopped at shoppers drug Mart to pick up a narcan kit ( nasal spray to give anyone you are struggling as they have OD on drugs.. whatever it may be)…. Got to my destination which was Port Dalhousie to talk about the first canal as my other 2 rides were about the second canal and the current canal…had a peach sorbet for a treat along with a few carousel rides cuz what would Lakeside Park be without going on the carousel in the summer. ALSO THE WORLD ROWING CHAMPIONSHIPS ARE ON SOON..
Heading home to get final km total for today’s ride
My total for today was 20km.
From Home to Port Dalhousie (the long way) and then back home again
I just raised $500 to fight kids' cancer and achieved GUARDIAN LEVEL in the challenge! Thank you so much for your support.
