Well there it is then, 1300 km for the month of August and over $1600 raised for a very worthwhile cause.
Our trip to Kingston may have easily compromised a couple of hundred kilometres but I enjoyed some seriously beautiful rides along the way anyhow.
Grateful to all of you who generously donated. That I had the privilege of doing what I love doing more than anything else and using that to directly benefit the lives of these brave kids is pretty badass actually.
And Iβll never stop telling it, no matter who rolls their eyes at me,
Take care of your wellness and make it a top priority.
Because if you cannot or wonβt mind your wellness then itβs not a matter of if but when ~ unwellness will come calling for you.
I promise π΄ββοΈ
Busy day's at the barbershop as summer fades but that didn't stop me from booking a little later today. This morning was my morning and there's no other morning like the morning that's your morning alone. Have a beautiful day folks π
Beautiful ride anyhow π΄ββοΈ

Recovery riding these past couple of days. The cool weather and a build up of lactic acid in the legs has me headed to the gym this morning for a little strength training and stretching. I expect to be back in the saddle tomorrow.
Pleased the goal has almost been reached and I will continue to persevere up and beyond my own pledge of 1000 km.
Almost there now folks π΄ββοΈ
Overcast and rain and only 30 km between Harmony & Chippewa but it was still a nice little ride!
No better way to discover a new place than from the seat of a bicycle! 100%
Transport your bike and park your gas and oil. Save yourself a few dollars on fuel and parking and discover far more by bike than you could ever hope to accomplish by vehicle or public transport. Bikes afford you the unique opportunity to discover the nooks and crannies of a new environment that most locals have been oblivious to for years. Bikes are an effective repellent to getting caught in repeated tourist snags solely designed to steal your money. When you actually have something to do you tend not to spend money on frivolous shit to do, period.
When you bike on vacation you exercise on vacation. A full day of cycling can easily expend a
couple thousand calories. You process the food and drink you consume far more efficiently, with far less hangover and you sleep far deeper and better when you do lay your head down at night.
Lastly, cycling provides you a visual flow of your new environment that is unmatched. The sun, fresh air and even the rain are an added authentic bonus. Optic flow and how you process it, in my opinion anyway, is what markedly differentiates the traveller from tourist.
Be a traveller, do your best not to be a tourist (sometimes it canβt be helped) π΄ββοΈ
The downside?
You might get your bicycle stolen and hey, letβs face it, while not necessarily a dangerous thing to do the consequences, nonetheless, are exceedingly high.

Today is August 10th and summer road trip begins.
This year we're aiming for Kingston, Ontario where I'll continue to bike and log my Challenge km.
Visited Kingston in the mid 90's for about a day. Was struck by its charm and surrounding natural beauty. Thought the downtown looked like a postcard and I swore Id have to return one day and so now I am.
Been off the bike for about 2 days now, in recovery mode. and looking forward to the week ahead π
Bellevue Valley was gorgeous and it was a vigourous day of climb (1200 m).
Saw a dead doe at the end of one descent, impeded by a watchful German Sheppard at another point but managed to slip by him.
The overcast day allowed us some respite from the heat, most of highway shoulders were well paved and even the corderoy back roads were fairly well maintained.
Great day π΄ββοΈ
Beautiful ride this morning! Stay hydrated my friends π
