The jersey has arrived! They said it would take 7-8 days to arrive so I was very surprised to see it only 3 days after when I was about to head of to time trial. Thank you to the sick kids foundation people for the jersey, setting up this amazing event, and of course the important part, the pediatric cancer research.
Also thank you once again to all of you guys that have donated and or shared this page, this also wouldn't be possible without you.
I've reached the halfway point after only 14 admittedly very long days. Honestly I wasn't completely sure I could finish this when I started the challenge so it's very nice to see it progressing above pace. Not sure if I'll keep riding after I hit 2000 or just fall apart and go into a coma, but I guess we'll see what happens then. Once again thank all of you for supporting this amazing cause in your very generous donations, the riding doesn't really mean much without your support so thank you so much, together we're saving little lives!
We've surpassed our second goal of 750 Dollars in only 13 days! Because of this I've updated my goal again to 1000, let's hope we can do it again. Thank all of you for your very generous donations!
We reached our goal! It's crazy to think that it only took 10 to reach 500 dollars. Because of the pace we're moving at I've decided to move the goal to 750, let's hope we can reach it! Also Wednesday (Aug 13) is "kick cancers butt day" where all donations are matched up to 1.3 million dollars total, so if you plan on donating soon Wednesday is a good day.
I was going to go for a ride this morning but my rear shifter cable slipped. I had to finish the distance in two very exhausted indoor rides(because I woke up at 4:30 for the ride) after we went to decathlon and got the part, so that's fun.
We reached our 500 dollar goal, thank all of you for your support of this very stupid challenge I set for myself! In semi related news I blew a hole in my tire going 65 kmh trying to avoid a bear today.
I crashed a few days ago and it took me out for two days, nothing serious and I'm back on the bike now but I just thought I should update you. The challenge is still on!
The time has almost come, the challenge begins in 9 days! I've been training hard all month to give myself a shot at completing the 2000, but the start finally being in sight is still nerve wracking. Good luck to myself and my fellow GCCer's in completing their monetary and distance goals.
