I needed to do enjoy the outdoors while I could and what better place to do it than the beach! I was up early to watch my son play an exhibition hockey game and it was such a beautiful day! Great opportunity to use my new bike rack and used a different bike actually, due to the new bike rack. 🤦🏽‍♀️ It was a great ride with a warm feel of community along the way.

I had no idea my rides would still apply after August! Next opportunity I get, Im out again!!!

I did 18 kms on the last day of August and that brought me to 52 kms in total. I was so excited to have raised funds for kids with Cancer and accomplished the distance I committed to! I am so thankful for everyone who supported and me in my fight against cancer! I know my Mom and Gram are proud. Having lost them both to Cancer, I had them on my mind each ride.

I was so incredibly excited that I reached my donation goal today and the weather was so beautiful that I couldn’t help but go for a ride! With only a few days left, I needed to get out there! After a little resistance from both Carter and our bikes, we did manage to load up and head for Brantford.

The weather was perfect. We went on the same path we did the last time we rode together. We noticed there were less birds this time. We made it back quite quickly.

Looking forward to doing my final ride solo on Sunday!

  • Beautiful Morning in Brantford
    9 Aug 2025

This morning I went out early despite the air quality advisory. It’s not as hot in the mornings but was just as bright. I went in a few circles and turned around a few times but I made it back to my car in good time lol

  • A quick third
    6 Aug 2025

Carter and I weren’t done yet. On our way home from our ride we stopped at his school where we road another 3kms. This helped me reach the 20km mark!!! It felt really great reaching that goal with him!! I thanked him many times!!! 😁

I’m looking forward to riding a new trail for the next ride, in my fight for a cure kids cancer!

I am so thankful for those who have donated to support me in achieving this goal! It’s very emotional for me having lost my Mom and Grandmother to cancer. I really can’t imagine what a child goes through.

  • Second Ride
    6 Aug 2025

My second ride was with my son Carter. He is 9 years old. He was so brave to join me in my fight for a cure for kids cancer. We talked about it. We were thankful for our health and we rode together for 5kms! He was a little unsteady at first. We started on the top of a 10ft berm and it was a little high so we turned around and went the other way and it made him much more confident. By the time we were coming back he wanted to go faster! It made me so proud! I am so thankful that he’s learning these healthy habits with me by experiencing them! What a great second ride!!!

My first ride was solo… never rode solo before. It was peaceful and I felt super accomplished when I was done. I had a relaxed mindset. Didn’t seem that hard but I pushed hard.

I bought a water bottle holder and a phone holder and thank goodness, a gel padded seat. So far, I only have the water bottle holder installed 🤷🏽‍♀️ I may need assistance for the seat. Might do the phone holder today.

I used Strava to help me navigate. Seems like a great app to help assist on making a full circle. Kept having to stop to look at my phone to stay on track though. Ended up circling around once 😂 Definitely need the phone holder on today.

Did a yoga class this morning to keep flexible and build my core. Looking forward to the next ride.
