Yesterday it was heat, today it was wind and rain. I got out for a quick rip north and south and beat the rain. I got a few drops which prompted the early return home, but as it turned out I could have gotten another 15 minutes in. LOL.

Shannon and I went out today in the heat to put in some KMs in an effort to meet my GCC Mileage Goal. As you know, I surpassed the goal on Saturday while Riding in the Wounded Warriors Ride for Mental Health. These KMs today are GCC specific and put me past my GCC goal as well. Great ride around home with Shannon today to get this done.
Out today supporting another cause near to my heart. Wounded Warriors Ride For Mental Health raises money to provide services to all who serve.
Technically this ride put me over my mileage pledge, but I don’t want to “Double Dip” so I’ll ride my GCC closing kms later this week and will advise when the KMs are complete.

Single digit temps this morning kept me waiting until this afternoon to get out and ride. I still had to wear a long sleeve riding sweater, but I nailed the clothing for the temp (I love it when that happens). It was a cool north wind, and lots of it today.
I received my Jersey this week (photo to follow) and will wear it when I meet/surpass my mileage goal. I'm getting closer to my riding goal each time I go out. Thanks again to everyone who supported me. Love to ALL!
There's no easy part of this ride. There's a climb within the first 5k and of course, you have to come out of Christian Valley coming home. I felt pretty good about the ride and added Main St. as a cool down. This will bring me close to my new (Pro-rated) goal. Your generosity brought me above my financial goal, so my new pre-rated goal to match that generosity is 372.6 kms. I'm not going to change my home page but I'll state it here for all of you. Keep looking for the progress if you're interested.
I want to send a message of thanks and gratitude to all who have sponsored me in this cause. Not only are your donations going directly towards fighting Children's cancer, your generosity also put me over my goal yesterday BEFORE the match was applied. I'm filled with gratitude.

Out with Shannon today after Busking guitar at the North Bay Farmer's Market (ALL tips directly to GCC). Shannon went out for 30K while I was playing THEN came with me for another 30 K. She's a machine. Had a nice ride. Happy to to some fund raising AND get some mileage on the same day.

Back outside today as the weather (sun at least) cooperated. Wind is another matter but that’s riding.
Nice to be back at it. This ride brought me to over half of my ride goal. I’m on track to meet and/or surpass the goal.
