My Story

1 Aug 2025

This August, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!

Why? Because right now, over 1,400 children are diagnosed with cancer every year, and it's the biggest killer of children from disease in Canada.

Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.

So I am raising funds through my challenge to help these kids and support SickKids Foundation to allow them to continue their work in developing treatments and finding a cure for childhood cancer.

Please support me by making a donation to give these kids the brighter futures they deserve.

Your support will change little lives.

Thank you.

  • Here I go again!
    1 Aug 2025

August is always so busy, smoky, or ridiculouly hot, so this month I'm cutting back my pledged riding distance to 250km. I have struggled to meet my lofty cycling goals in the past couple years of this challenge due to mental health woes, low energy, slower recovery, and the aforementioned Okanagan summer conditions.

With that said, I continue to believe in the cause! Any type of cancer is horrible and childhood cancer is one that I most despise. Children should not be fighting for their lives; they should be living it to the fullest!

I hope to raise $2,500 for the SickKids Foundation through your support this month. Click below to donate or to monitor my progress.

Thank you to all who have supported my yearly fundraising for the Great Cycle Challenge. Thank you, in advance, to all who will be cheering me on and/or donating this month!

    Here I go again!

“I think a lot of people don't deeply consider the full ugliness of what it means to be fighting cancer. The conversation is always about "being strong and brave" or "being positive", which are all good things, of course. People know enough to understand that it's serious and scary. However, unless you've experienced it yourself or have watched a loved one go through it, cancer is a dark and vague ickiness that we all hope will just pass us by. I imagine what it would be like for a child or their parents, or their siblings, but then I have to pull back a bit. The emotions get too real. The heartache too much. Thinking of you, Lynn. <3 Thank you for your support. One day, we will have a world without cancer. It's simply a matter of time. I truly believe that!”
