My Story

I joined the GCC🇨🇦 3 years ago, and I am extremely thankful for everyone's support 🙏

Cancer is a disease that affects us all, and hoping we can find a cure is what motivates me to keep riding and supporting this cause

This year I will be riding in memory of Julie, a kind selfless soul lost to cancer this year. One of her nieces was kind enough to share a memoir she wrote

I Am Riding For

My favourite thing about aunt Julie was how selfless she was, even when she was sick, her battle was inspiring and touched so many: "Julie was a beautiful soul who would give her last dollar to help someone else. She would walk me home from high school talking about her family and her life" "She was non-judgmental and such a great listener. You were an extraordinary role model shining bright like a guiding star" "I always thought I was a kind and compassionate person and then I met my sister, Julie. The shirt on her back would come off right on the street if you needed it more. She always put others needs before her own and often did without just to make someone else happy. The world just lost one of the biggest hearts" "Julie was a beaut. She was way more of a humanitarian then I could ever be in 10 lifetimes. Always a calm and kind presence with non-judgemental advice" "Julie was a selfless, kind, beautiful person who would do anything for anyone. She had very little and lived very simply but the amount of kindness she gave to those around her was immeasurable" "You will always be the greatest confident, story-teller, gift-giver, and animal lover that I’ve ever known. She cared about everyone around her. Even when her health wasn’t the best, she would always remember to text for birthdays, thanksgiving and christmas. She gave really thoughtful gifts to all of us and would even go so far as to get our pets a present at christmas time, she did that for her nieces and nephews, their children, and her sisters, that's the kind of person she was" "I wish we had more time with you, I wish I got to laugh and joke with you more" All these comments and texts let my family and I know that the world saw her how we did and for that we are forever grateful. She leaves us all with nothing but happy memories and moments that we will cherish forever.
