I'm Riding For
Emree Siaroff

Both my Mom and Dad have had their own battles with cancer. On April 13, 2025, Dad lost his battle. He is the reason I ride.
My Story
This August, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to tackle kids’ cancer!
Those who know me know that cancer has impacted my family for quite a few years now. Based on the pain that I have felt watching both of my parents fight cancer, I can only imagine how it would feel to have to fight it myself or be the parent of a child with cancer. Between countless early mornings, late nights, hospital visits, procedures and operations, this sickness takes so much more than just a physical toll on the patient. Everybody who cares for them and helps them suffers in one way or another.
Me and my Dad have taken part in this challenge for the past 8 years excluding last summer, when he was diagnosed with Pancreatic cancer. He lost his battle on April 13, 2025. I was constantly amazed at the positivity, good energy, and joy that he still radiated as he has underwent chemotherapy and radiation, along with all of the side effects you might imagine. In honour of him, I will be riding as much as I possibly can, and raising as much money as I possibly can this August.
The nature of my summer job has me working for the majority of the days in August, so I will be logging my kilometres in May and June on my Strava which I will share with my supporters. I only have four days in August where I am not working, and I will be riding as much as I can on those days as well! My overall goals are as follows:
-100KM ridden in August.
-400KM ridden in May and June.
-5000$ raised for kids’ cancer.
100% of the money you donate to my challenge will go directly to the SickKids Foundation in support of their research and fight against this heartbreaking disease.
Please consider supporting my challenge. Not just for me, not just for my family, but for the 880 children who will be diagnosed with cancer this year, and the 150 who will not win their fight against it (Source: Public Health Agency of Canada.)
Thanks, Bennett
