My Story
This August, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!
Why? Because right now, over 1,700 children are diagnosed with cancer every year, and it's the biggest killer of children from disease in Canada.
Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.
So I am raising funds through my challenge to help these kids and support SickKids Foundation to allow them to continue their work in developing treatments and finding a cure for childhood cancer.

The ride goes on
22 Aug 2024I had to take a but of a break as work tried to kill me lol. Over 10 hours of overtime with my 2 evening shifts. I was not fit to ride. But I lived to pedal another day.
I'm not pushing as much these days because I'm also in prep mode for our trip to the Acadian Peninsula on Saturday. Things need to be done before we go.

15 Aug 2024I rode for the kids on a first ride, and then I rode with a kid for another. Love getting my little nephew out there with me. It was his first day with an odometer. It's a great motivator😊

14 Aug 2024Work got in the way today. I got called back in last night after only getting 3 hours of sleep. So catching up on sleep took priority over biking, unfortunately. I'm hoping to have better luck tomorrow.

13 Aug 2024I have to admit, I rode this morning because I felt I had to, not because I wanted to. I could have easily stayed in bed lol. So rather than doing the more generic ride that I've found myself doing a lot lately (laps around my area), I made my way to the waterfront in Dieppe. I saw birds and nature. I'm glad I went

8 Aug 2024I'm very disappointed in myself for not getting on the bike today. But I blame the day and it's lack of minutes. One of my projects was out of town and I just wasn't able to finish it early enough to give myself time to bike before it got dark. I will try to make up for it tomorrow

August 6th
7 Aug 2024I worked today and then went to Costco. By the time I had supper, I wasn't feeling very energetic, but I thought "hey, at least go for a short ride". It's becoming more and more obvious that I obsess over numbers. As I'm riding, I'm doing math in my head. If I do the circuit one more time, I'll be up to this much. Once the circuit is done, I realize I can get a little more if I just go up and down my street again. In the end, my short ride ended up being 25 kms.
