My Story

This August, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer! I am riding with the AGNICO Eagle Mines team to assist their dedicated group of riders. This is my 5th Year support for the Sickkids team, 4 years with ALAMOS Gold and this is my first year with AGNICO Eagle (AEM) and have now reached the 5 year Legacy Status.
I am a grandfather of 8 healthy children, who are a source of inspiration for me to help the families who are dealing with one of life's major struggles. I want to make a difference for these families so their kids can be cancer free and live a good family life.
I have an old friend loose this son to cancer and went through the pain with them.
I'm riding to make a difference in the young lives that should be in school or out playing and enjoying their childhoods. Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.
Why am I doing this? Because right now, over 1,400 children are diagnosed with cancer every year, and it's the biggest killer of children from disease in Canada.
So I am raising funds through my challenge to help these kids and support SickKids Foundation to allow them to continue their work in developing treatments and finding a cure for childhood cancer.
