Once again this year, I'm participating in the "Great Cycling Challenge" (GCC Canada), a fundraising initiative supporting pediatric cancer research and families navigating the heartbreaking journey of their children's battle against cancer.

My Goal: $500 CAD and 1 km for every dollar donated! (August, September, and October)

My Motivation

I participate in this campaign in solidarity with parents facing this challenge. Fortunately, my children have never had cancer, but my eldest received a diagnosis of a degenerative and fatal genetic disease at age 4. Six months later, we received confirmation it was a false positive. The lasting impact of that experience, combined with supporting a close friend through his battle with bone cancer, motivated me to engage in this campaign as a humble way to show support for all parents going through this ordeal.

P.S. Last year I was pleasantly surprised to receive over $700 in donations, but COVID in August limited my cycling performance! I'm now working hard to "pay back" last year's donations in kilometers!
