My Story
My cousin Pat, who I think is well into her 70's now announced on facebook that she had joined this ride to raise money for kid's cancer. I'm hardly ever on FB, so I heard it second hand through my wife. Now, normally I am not a joiner when it comes to these events, not really confident in where the money is going and who's behind it all. But, this time I decided to join. Hmmm... why's that you say? Well, I've never had kids, but my stepson and daughter-in-law are expecting their first child this June. That gonna make me a grandpa! Yikes, ok does that mean I have to learn how to change a diaper at age 63? Maybe, but more importantly I think having a grandchild makes me want to do something for kids. Something I've never done before. I love to cycle. A lot. Strava tells me I average around 300-550km per month. So for the month of June, for the kids, I want to try and get to 1000km.
This will change little lives in BIG ways.
Thank you for your support.
