I'm Riding For
Don Lindstrom
My grandfather, Donald Lindstrom, was a source of light and love in both my life and the lives of everyone he knew. In 2012 he was diagnosed with and eventually succumbed to colon cancer after a long, hard fought battle. Despite it all, he never lost hope. He made every moment with him special, and the memories I made with him on the farm as a kid will never, ever leave me. Today, he remains an inspiration to everyone who was fortunate enough to know him, and his infectious spirit, kindness and energy is what drove me to pursue this challenge. Nobody should have to go through the pain and heartbreak of such a life-changing diagnosis - especially a child.
My Story
This August, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer.
Right now, over 1,700 children are diagnosed with cancer every year, and it's the biggest killer of children from disease in Canada.
Everyone should have the opportunity to experience of an enriching, fun and carefree childhood, and should never worry about having to fight for their lives.
I am raising funds through my challenge to help these kids and support SickKids Foundation to allow them to continue their work in developing treatments and finding a cure for childhood cancer.
If you are able to help me reach my goal by making a donation, I cannot thank you enough. Your support will have an impact in changing the lives of these children across Canada.
