SADIE MIDDLETON
Sadie’s story ♥️ Sadie was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (blood cancer) in December 2019 when she was 4 years old. Sadie went through over 800 days of chemo and finished treatment in February 2022. Her family thought this was the end of her cancer journey, as ALL relapses are very uncommon. Unfortunately, Sadie’s cancer came back in December 2023, almost 2 years after she finished her treatment. The treatment for relapse is much more aggressive, and Sadie has spent a lot of time in hospital in the last 7 months and has had several blood and platelet transfusions. Her relapse treatment is 2 years in length and will not finish until December 2025. Despite this, Sadie has remained positive and happy and is a beacon of strength.
My Story
This August, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!
Why? Because right now, over 1,400 children are diagnosed with cancer every year, and it's the biggest killer of children from disease in Canada.
Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.
So I am raising funds through my challenge to help these kids and support SickKids Foundation to allow them to continue their work in developing treatments and finding a cure for childhood cancer.
