I'm Riding For
Joyce Rilstone
I committed my summer to participate in the Great Cycle Challenge held annually by the SickKids Foundation to help children with cancer. While I am doing it in my Mum's memory, Joyce Rilstone, who herself lost a valiant battle against the disease 40 years ago, I am also thinking every day about all who I have known and lost to the disease. And all who have suffered from it in the process, both physically and mentally. This dreaded curse on humankind must stop.
My Story
This August, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!
Why? Because right now, over 1,700 children are diagnosed with cancer every year, and it's the biggest killer of children from disease in Canada.
Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.
So I am raising funds through my challenge to help these kids and support SickKids Foundation to allow them to continue their work in developing treatments and finding a cure for childhood cancer.
