I'm Riding For
Kathleen Stitt,

Riding in the memory of my Mom, Kathleen who lost the battle to cancer. My wife Diane and I are both cancer survivors. We are good now, and happy, active, and healthy. So pleased to be cycling again for this great cause. How can we not support the kids fighting cancer and the Sick Kids Hospital doing incredible work every day.
My Story
I just signed up today. This will be my 7th. year riding, supporting Kids dealing with cancer. The kids are at the centre of the battle with their treatments and time in the hospitals. But cancer effects every family member. Moms, Dads, siblings, and all their friends. I feel my ride is the easy enjoyable part of the journey. It is so gratifying to see people support me and sick kids hospital with your donations. Many people have supported me with my rides including The Ride to conquer Cancer (Princess Margaret Hosp.) and the Heart and Stroke Ride. The famous "oldspokes" team has had many riders and supporters over 20 years, however right now it's just me . All the past team members all have solid reasons why they do not participate now. But, we can all be proud that we have collectedly raised almost $50,000 for cancer research.
Thank you for many years of support for important causes. After not riding for a while I am ready to hit the road again and support this great cause. We all will be affected but Cancer at some point in our lives. It could be family, friends, or yourself. I will be riding again for kids battling cancer with the memories of our "oldspokes" team. We have had many successful rides and were able to raise funds for life saving cancer research.
I am raising funds through my challenge to help these kids and support SickKids Foundation to allow them to continue their work in developing treatments and finding a cure for childhood cancer
Your support will change little lives.
There is nothing more traumatic then a child with cancer. Fortunately no one in our family has had to deal with this. However both my mom and my wife’s mother died from cancer. It is never easy. I am also riding with a group that has raised donations for cancer research in the past. “Oldspokes” One rider is no longer with us Peter Lambert. He was an amazing person that passed far to early
Thank you.

Great Cycle Challenge
1 Aug 2025Cancer. A tough disease that affects so many. It’s evan worse when it affects kids. I will be riding in support of fighting and treating cancer patients at Sick Kids Hospital. This will be my sixth ride. I have set a modest goal of $200. and I hope to raise $1,000. Donators receive a tax receipt. Thanks, Wes
