I'm Riding For
Eric

This August, I’m riding in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer—because every child deserves the chance to grow up. Eric was one of my “boys.” I had the privilege of coaching him in youth sports for many years. He was the kind of kid every coach dreams of—always smiling, easy to coach, full of heart, and backed by an incredible family. The kind of family you’d never expect to be touched by something so devastating. Just after his 18th birthday, Eric was diagnosed with cancer. And then came the words no one should ever hear—terminal. But Eric, in his typical way, met that diagnosis with grit, grace, and a smile. He learned to surf in Santa Cruz. He kept playing rep baseball. He picked up golf and chased new adventures wherever he could. He didn’t let cancer stop him from living. Eric passed away at just 24 years old. And it’s not right. Our kids deserve better. That’s why I ride. That’s why I raise funds. To honour Eric. To support other families. To help ensure more kids have the chance to chase dreams, not treatments. Rest easy, Eric. I’ll keep riding for you—and for all the kids still fighting. Please, if you can, support this cause. Donate. Share. Ride. Whatever you do, know it helps change lives—little lives that deserve every chance in the world. Thank you. 💛 #GreatCycleChallenge #RideForEric #KidsDeserveBetter #WhyIRide
