This August, I’m riding in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids’ cancer — in honour of our brave friend Hendrix, who is currently facing cancer for the second time.

Our family knows this fight all too well. In 2023, our daughter Adriana was diagnosed with leukemia at just three years old. After over two years of treatment, she finally rang the bell this spring — but not every child gets to do that. Hendrix is still in the thick of it, and we’re riding for him, and for every child still in the fight.

We’ve joined this challenge as Team Adriana, carrying forward the strength, hope, and resilience we’ve seen in our kids. Every dollar we raise supports the SickKids Foundation and helps fund life-saving research, better treatments, and the search for a cure.

More than 1,700 kids are diagnosed with cancer every year in Canada — and it’s still the number one disease-related cause of death in children. That has to change.
