My Story
This August, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!
Why? Because right now, over 1,700 children are diagnosed with cancer every year, and it's the biggest killer of children from disease in Canada.
Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.
So I am raising funds through my challenge to help these kids and support SickKids Foundation to allow them to continue their work in developing treatments and finding a cure for childhood cancer.
Unfortunately, in late summer of 2024 one of my best friend’s daughter was diagnosed with Clear Cell Sarcoma. Her journey began with the removal of a very large 6lb tumour from her abdomen, along with one of her kidneys. She then had radiation, followed by an aggressive 36 week chemotherapy treatment plan. Our little lipstick loving Ella Bella Brave is far more than a statistic though … she’s kind, she’s beautiful, & she is ONLY 4!
This August I will be riding with my son Grayson (10), to raise awareness to children’s cancer; but mostly to support this great cause. The Hospital for Sick Children has been the largest pillar to Ella’s journey, right from early stages of diagnosis, straight through her treatment & recovery process. While Ella is still in the treatment process, we are hopeful for a positive outcome!
