I'm Riding For
The cause
My Story
When I read about the great work that sick kids does I want to make a difference. So here I am a MIMI, Gmother, to two boys They are loud, lively, greatly loved and importantly, they are healthy. I am blessed. Today, there is a child in hospital undergoing treatment for Cancer and parents are worried in a way I cannot imagine. We have to try harder to fix this.
This August I ride again in the Great Cycle Challenge for the 8th year hoping that my contribution added to others will make a BIG difference.
So I am hoping to raise funds through my challenge to help these kids and support SickKids Foundation as they continue their work in developing treatments for childhood cancer. Your support will change little lives and all you have to do is put your hand in your wallet and I will put my feet on the pedals.
Please support me with anything that you can manage. Let’s all be part of the solution 👍
Thank you.

What a difference a day makes.
1 Aug 2025From scorched earth to a pleasant cool breeze that followed me on the kick off cycle ride. The ride was easy although I had forgotten a few important things.
1- the roads in Hamilton have more holes than Emmental cheese.
2- bike lanes seem to be for landscaper trucks, trailers and broken glass. Whats with all of the glass?
3- That most bike accidents are due to the rider avoiding 1 and 2 and only 7% of accidents are due to being run over. Who knew.
So....with a 93% chance of survival I did my first ride for an amazing cause. I saw lots of children out playing on scooters, playing basket ball. Laughing, just being kids. That is a stark reminder to those who cannot. A stark reminder for all of us. Let's count our blessings. Hug our kids. Be grateful and donate. Donate to me, to any of the riders. Let's fix this.
