My Story

In August I am riding 1200 km in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!

My challenge starts THIS WEEK.

In August 2020 at the height of the Covid pandemic I was diagnosed with prostrate cancer! Thanks to my family physician Dr. Chris Allison, Urologist Dr. Owen Prowse, Oncologist Dr. Marlon Hagerty and my wife Filomena we attacked the cancer within six months stopped it in its tracks!

This is my third-year riding to raise money for cancer care. I understand the importance of funding research as I have volunteered on our Thunder Bay Regional Health Science Centre Research Ethics Board since 2015 and currently the chair overseeing local research projects.

I urge everyone out there to get checked as cancer does not discriminate who it attacks.

Every 2 minutes, a child is diagnosed with cancer. It's the largest killer of children from disease in Canada...

Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.
